AIM-4-WELLNESS

The Walter Lee Wilmore (WLW) Foundation continues to serve African-American

adult women and girls ages 10-52 through a LA County COVID-19 grant to discuss issues

of concern to help resolve their personal life challenges. The support group -

African-Americans Improving Minority Health - AIM-4-WELLNESS was born from an 1999

needs assessment that became the blueprint for starting this local support group. It provides

a safe and nurturing environment for participants to learn how to improve and focus on their

self development, self care, career advancement, higher education, etc. This support group

spans more than two decades throughout the years, and with or without funding, continues

to this very day. Great success stories have evolved such as obtaining their GED to

enrolling in law school. More than 300 low-income women and their families have improved

their quality of life.
